Curriculum vitae
Jürg Hutter (*1961) studied 1980-1984 at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ) and graduated in Molekularwissenschaften (molecular sciences).

1985-1988 he was assistant at the Institute for Physical Chemistry at the Universität Zürich and graduated with the PhD thesis «Berechnungen nichtlinearer optischer Eigenschaften von Molekülen» («Calculation of non-linear optical properties of molecules»).

1989-1993 he worked at the super-computing center at the ETHZ. In 1990 he was a post-doctoral fellow at «Laboratoire d'Optique Quantique» at the Ecole Polytéchnique in Paris with a scholarship from Swiss National Science Foundation.

1993-1994 he was «Research Staff Member» at the IBM Research Laboratory in Rüschlikon. Then he moved to Max Planck-Institut für Festkörperforschung in Stuttgart as a research fellow.

January 1st 2000 Prof. Hutter was appointed assistant professor for «Computational Chemistry» at the University of Zürich.

In 2004 he was appointed associate professor and in 2009 full professor for Physical Chemistry at the University of Zürich.
